14 year-old transforms a 1974 Wilderness camper into a dreamy 'glamper'.
Teen Transforms Old Camper Into A “Glamper”
There's no place like home. That's what every family member feels whenever they are in it. You don’t need a large one or need to spend a fortune to create an incredibly cozy and warm place to live.
14 years old Ellie Yeater.
A fourteen-year-old teen from West Virginia, Ellie Yeater did something that can be considered as the ultimate DIY-project and created an even a more impressive transformation. When she had some free time in the summer, she decided to spend most of her days renovating a 1974 old camper.
She had help from her whole family.
The teen called her masterpiece “glamper,” instead of just a regular camper. Ellie had saved up $500 to buy a camper; she collected the money from birthdays and several chores. Ellie’s mom describes her as an “out-of-the-box kinda kid”.
For a lower price of $200, she found a camper in a classifieds paper. Ellie used the rest of her remaining money to gather materials for the renovation including paint, flooring, fabric and of course some interior items and other decorations. Luckily, her dad was to the rescue and decided to give some little extra cash to get Ellie a wood and rubber roof roll.
Ellie had fun decorating her camper.
The Yeater family has a special connection with the outside. They live on a sizeable 60-acre homesite, and Ellie’s brother Isaiah already built his little spot by making a small cabin where he and his friends would hang out.
It is where Ellie got her inspiration from. Before Ellie could start with decorating and renovating, the camper had to be cleaned out thoroughly. Her grandfather, Lawrence was more than happy to help her out with carpentry and painting.
Ellie’s Glamper creation drew worldwide attention.
Ellie chose an adorable pastel-style color scheme of pink and blue and made sure to paint almost everything inside the camper to give it a unique identity. She also installed an entirely new floor alongside new furniture and self-made curtains.
Ellie’s grandmother was also willing to lend a hand. She gave Ellie a bunch of small items that blended in perfectly with the “glamper” style.
Ellie’s “glamper”.
This fourteen-year-old teen saved up enough money to build the ultimate cozy place for herself and her friends, and we have to admit, the result is impressive.
“Everyone needs a house to live in, but a supportive family is what builds a home.”
