Keanu Reeves Has Been Secretly  Financing Countless Children’s Hospitals

The Matrix is similar to a classic in 2018, and it might even be cherished in the future as a story that people never forget.

Keanu Reeves is usually put into memes, like that one picture taken in 2010 when Keanu was sitting on a bench looking a certain way of eating a sandwich.

Reeves has had anything but an easy life

What most people don’t know are the details of his life or personality as much. When he was just three years old, his father, incarcerated for the sale of heroin, left their family. The last time Keanu saw his father was when he was 13 years old.

He had a lot of setbacks in life

During his childhood, he lived in different places with different stepfathers. He also attended various schools.

It wasn't really a good life for Keanu especially when his long-term partner, Jennifer Syme gave birth to a stillborn daughter into her pregnancy, eight months into it. Just weeks later, Syme passed away in a car accident at the age of 29. His younger sister, Kim, was diagnosed with leukemia in the 1990s. He became her sister's primary caretaker.

Reeves established his own foundation dedicated to his sister, Kim

During his younger sister’s battle with cancer, Reeves established his own foundation, in Kim's honor. His private foundation seeks to find a cure for cancer. It also supports both children’s wards and kids’ hospitals. He was also generous enough to give donations to various cancer charities.  

Back in 2008, during an interview, Reeves revealed that his private foundation has been running for six years now. He didn't want to attach his name to it and just let the foundation do what it does.

“I try not to speak about all the charities and people I help, because I believe we can only be truly generous when we expect nothing in return.”
