Lucky, before and after.
Groomer Works All Night To Unveil The Beauty Underneath An Abandoned Dog's Matted Fur
Beauty lies from within. It's not just about the physical appearance.
A couple from Florida found an abandoned dog on the road near Oviedo, who was about to get hit by a car.
His whole body was like a mummified cast.
The dog was hardly responsive, and his fur was severely matted. It was clear that it had been neglected for most of his life, so the couple decided to take action. It’s hard to not feel bad for a stray dog that looks hurt, neglected, hungry, and alone.
They picked up the dog and sent out a request for help on social media.

The couple did not have to wait very long until Kari Falla, a local groomer, responded to their plea.
Kari had worked with shelters in the past to offer free grooming services and, therefore, felt compelled to help relieve some of the stray dog’s pain.
Falla claimed that when a dog is matted so badly, it could cause the dog to bruise or impede it's blood flow. She decided to open her grooming salon at midnight to take care of the poor dog that desperately needed the urgent care.
Lucky’s transformation.
“I knew it was bad, but nothing prepared me for what I saw. It smelled like death, and the dog could not walk.” After tirelessly working all night, Kari Falla was able to shave him completely and give him his first bath for a long time.
“Once we shaved him, he was wagging his tail and was so happy. I knew I did the right thing,” she said.
After that, she took the dog to the vet for an examination and a neutering. The dog, which the veterinarians believe to be a Goldendoodle mix, stayed at the vet overnight.
Lucky seems to be happy with it’s new look.
When he was first found, the dog’s mats were soaking wet, full of yeast infection, infested with fleas, and attached like a mummified cast.It turned out that the dog, which they decided to call Lucky, is sadly blind and deaf. Luckily, it is undergoing a very successful recovery and is currently placed in a foster home.
After sharing the dog’s story on her Facebook page, Kari started to receive an incredible amount of love and support from strangers, all thanking for her selfless act and for alleviating the dog of his pain. The employees of the BGE Grooming have kept the Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/BGEGrooming/) updated, so that Lucky’s new fans can keep track of how he is doing.
Every abandoned dog deserves a second life and a loving family. Thanks to the people who didn't give up on Lucky to have a new hope and life.
