Grandmother Skater Who Spends Her Gliding Across Lake Baikal
There is something special about a grandmothers determination, and one story can attest to that. Meet a 76-year old grandmother named Lyubov Morekhodova from Siberia. Lyubov is not your ordinary grandmother. Despite her age, she manages to survive in frosty weather and live on her own, but that is not all, what's more, interesting is her unique skating style.
Lyubov Morekhodova
According to Lyubov, she first learned to skate at the age seven, and now she spends her retirement days gliding across Baikal, the deepest lake in the world.
She is a Retired Technology Engineer and an animal lover. Ever since her husband died in 2011, she lives alone in her modern house with her beloved animals: dogs, cat, hens and roosters, calves, bulls, and cows.
Lyubov is an animal lover.
Her daily routine starts by waking up at 5:30 am to feed her cows by letting them graze on a hill across the lake. And to shorten her distance, she puts on her skates and slides across the Baikal lake just to make sure that the cows won't get lost.
Lyubov admits that the Baikal gives her happiness and a good mood.
Lyubov said that Baikal eases her loneliness and even gives her happiness and contentment in life with her beloved animals.
Lyubov has a talent in embroidery and other crafts.
Thank you for inspiring us, and it is a genuine example that age doesn't matter. That as long as one is capable of doing the things they enjoy and love, nothing is impossible.
“Optimism is the one quality more associated with success and happiness than any other.”
