Family Wanted: Five Siblings Want To Stay Together (Super Cute)

Five Kansas siblings are looking for a permanent adoptive family. They had to be sent to separate foster homes, but the children's only wish was to stay together.

“This is a viral response, and it’s pretty insane,” according to Corey Lada of the Kansas Children’s Service League. The league's contracts with the state to run AdoptKSKids.org who posted the ad and it immediately went viral on the internet. She also said that in her 13-plus years of working, she hadn't seen any thing like that.

The children’s wish: to have a happy family.

The children sent an appeal in the Kansas City Star weekly "Family Wanted" when they were featured on their website. Over 4 million people viewed the ad, and more than 3,000 requests were received.

The family wanted ad, featuring the three brothers and the two sisters, identified only by their first names. The oldest, Bradley, 11, was described as shy, quiet and a "music enthusiast." Preston, 10, loves fishing, exploring and collecting spoken. Layla, the middle child, 8, is an animal lover and a hip-hop dancer. She said she wanted to be a Veterinarian someday.

Landon, 6, wants to be a teacher, his major? Physical Education! He is a fast runner. And their youngest, Olive, 2, who loves to give hugs!

Theresa Freed, Communications Director for the Kansas Department for Children and Families, said that there are a lot of people wanted to adopt the siblings. She also said that the children are all currently being kept in two separate foster homes, but they hope to be adopted together.

Preston, 10, is a great outdoor kid.

In addition to the children's wish for “two loving parents,” the siblings say they’d be delighted to have a donkey and a horse, although they’ll settle for a cat and a dog or two.

Joni Hiatt a Kansas director of programs for FosterAdopt Connect, a nonprofit service provider not involved in the siblings’ placement. She said, "Prospective parents of any one child who is up for adoption must be prepared to deal with trauma associated in that youngster’s past, and we need to find the right family for the job."

Landon, 6, wanted to become a Physical Education teacher someday.

“Multiply that by five, and that’s asking a lot” of an interested family, Hiatt said. “But that bond between siblings is the strongest thing they’ve got when parents are gone. I hope that people expressing interest genuinely want to see these children kept together, he also said.

Olive, 2, loves to give hugs.

We hope that the children will find a new family that will adopt them altogether.

Wishing Bradley, Preston, Layla, Landon, and Olive all the luck in the world in the quest of finding your new family. Thanks for sharing this inspiring story.

“Sibling relationships...outlast marriages, survive the death of parents, resurface after quarrels that would sink any friendship. They flourish in a thousand incarnations of closeness and distance, warmth, loyalty and distrust.”
