Townfolks Threw the Most Awesome 107th Birthday Greetings to an Elderly Woman

Every year, most people celebrate their birthdays with family and friends. But it's not always that the celebrant reaches their age more than 100.

A  very special day to celebrate indeed.

Celebrating with Myda - a special day made more special.

Twice her senior year,  Myda Lewis, an elderly woman from Stillwater, Oklahoma just turned 107 and her only wish was to ride in a convertible car during a parade.

What started as a simple convertible ride wish became a complete festival-like parade along Main Street in her honor.

It all began when a hospice nurse asked Myda if there was anything she had always wanted to do. The resident told that she had always fancied riding in a convertible to a parade. The nurse called Myda's daughter to get permission to take her for a ride in a convertible, but that wasn't all.

Employees and Staff at Physician's Choice Hospice and Westhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center started to make plans to make it more special.

People from Main Street businesses responded enthusiastically when Westhaven staff asked them to step out and wave to Myda as she drove by together with police escorts - wow!

Then someone created an event posted on Facebook and by the next morning, nearly 800 people had responded that they were planning to attend. What had started as a simple joyride down Main Street in a convertible car had turned into a real parade.

"And we need this positivity in the world right now. Everybody's smiling today, I don't see one grumpy face . The whole town has come together an attendee said.

It's not everyday that someone celebrates his/her 107th birthday!
