Who doesn't love even just a single Disney character? I bet no one. All ages know and grew up watching Disney. 

These characters are used everywhere - from apparels, kitchen utensils, car accessories, toys - name it all.

Disney has billions of fans worldwide creates unique reimagination of characters, just like this artist from Finland.

Finnish artist Jirka Vinse Jonatan Väätäinen has grown up with Disney. Its characters have become his inexhaustible source of inspiration. During the last couple of years, Jirka has been creating their portraits, and the images look incredibly realistic.

"Back in 2011 I just randomly thought I'd challenge myself and have a little fun in Photoshop, and explore what the character of Ursula from the Little Mermaid could look like in real life," Jirka said. "Since I grew up with a lot of these characters, the sense of nostalgia made it such a fascinating and a fun personal project."

"I've been inspired by the idea of re-envisioning these characters that we all know and love, in a way I would imagine them to look like if they were 'more real,' while still staying somewhat true to their original designs."

The 28-years-old artist said in his mind, he often has a pretty clear idea of what a particular character should look like in real life. But once he starts creating their portrait, it becomes a process of trial and error. He added that these characters do not particularly have extremely distinct facial features.  It is more often about getting their distinct personality into his creation.
