Nature has always been such a giver to people. We love everything about it, the animals, trees, and other life forms.

Fascinated by its beauty, some people even travel around the globe to do camping and have an adventure just to experience and see the magical and breath-taking sceneries.

Luckily, people won't be traveling that far just to experience it all, there's a new path beckoning from South America and all the way up to the North.

A newly opened 1,740-mile hiking trail in Chile is now ready for travelers. Stretching from Puerto Montt in the north to Cape Horn in the south.

What's more interesting is that the trail connects 17 different national parks. Giving travelers access to the Andes Mountain, forests and even a few volcanoes.

The trail is called the Route of Parks. It is the result of the conservation efforts of Douglas Tompkins, the late founder of The North Face, and his wife Kristine McDivitt Tompkins, the former CEO of Patagonia.

The Tompkins purchased millions of acres of land to preserve it. And in March 2017, McDivitt Tompkins donated a portion of this land, the size of Switzerland to the local government so that land could be used to add and create new national parks.

To name a few, Pumalín Douglas Tompkins National Park, Melimoyu National Park, Patagonia National Park, Cerro Castillo National Park, and Kawésqar National Park, were created, and three more, Hornopirén National Park, Corcovado National Park, and Isla Magdalena National Park were expanded.

"We want Chile to be internationally recognized for having the most spectacular scenic route in the world, and thus become a benchmark for economic development based on conservation," Carolina Morgado, executive director of Tompkins Conservation Chile, said at a conference organized by Imagen de Chile.

Thanks to Douglas Tompkins and his wife, McDivitt Tompkins who donated the enormous land so that it can be conserved and be available for the future generations.
