A boy from Maryland is making a difference by helping veterans get back on their feet.

Andrea Blackstone said to Good Morning America that her son Tyler Stallings started to bear a hand for veterans in need at the age of four.

Tyler has a big heart to help homeless veterans.

Blackstone remembered her son asked her about the videos of veterans on the street holding signs to no one responding to their appeal for assistance. Tyler said if those people are heroes, why are they on the road, and that is something not right, he didn't like it.

Tyler has a big heart to help them, so her mother contacted Gov. Larry Hogan and provided Tyler $100 grant for him to use in helping veterans who need it.

Tyler has been doing his mission for four years.

That single donation leads Tyler to have this mission started, and he has conveyed it now for four years. It also encouraged Tyler to join the Maryland Center for Veteran Education and Training and soon became an advocate to give awareness about the challenges of veterans after their service.

Then Tyler proposed this idea of “Hero Bags,” a bag filled with stuff like hygiene kit, clothes, food, bedding, and other things that would help homeless veterans.

Tyler already raised more than $50,000 to help these veterans through his platform site and other channels.

He came up with this idea when his mother told him that they would not be able to build homes for veterans. Andrea told GMA that it should be a single thing only, but it came to be an all-time event.

Andrea was thrilled when MCVET finally accepts his son, and they loved having Tyler there.

Her mother mentioned in GoFundMe that in the beginning, it was difficult for others to take her four-year-old son seriously. Andrea was thrilled when MCVET finally accepts his son, and they loved having Tyler there.

Helping the veterans makes Tyler feel glad.

Tyler told GMA that helping them makes him glad and is very good every time he sees their happy faces or reactions. He also added that these veterans should have what they need because of the sacrifices and good thing they did for the country.

Based on the report provided by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, there are approximately 553,000 people who are currently homeless in the US, and 65% of their number are staying in shelters or transitional housing programs. Unfortunately, 35% of them are living on the streets, abandoned buildings, or worst places that are not safe or good for human habitation.

According to The National Alliance to End Homelessness, there are multiple reasons why someone may end up homeless, such as people who escaped a violent relationship, mental problems, income, and racial disparities.
