1 millionth book delivered in N.C by Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
Last month, the millionth book was delivered to North Carolina to a young child. This is in partnership with globally recognized early literacy program Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and Smart Start, North Carolina’s early childhood network. There are nearly 200,000 registered children state-wide.
Children receive free books in Buncombe County.
Each month, 1,982 children receive free books in Buncombe County. And over the past three years, in partnership with Buncombe Partnership for Children, they have provided more than 30,000 books to children living in the community.
Dolly Parton wanted to inspire children in North Carolina to love reading and learning.
According to the founder of the program, Dolly Parton, they wanted to inspire children in North Carolina to love reading and learning. They created a program where they send a specially selected book as a gift delivered right to the home of the children each month. They partnered with Smart Start Network.
